Nurses Day is being commemorated internationally every year to celebrate Nursing and raise the profile of their work in a variety of ways and events.To celebrate the 2010 community Year of the Nurse, was established to involve the world's nurses (estimated at more than 15 million) in a celebration of commitment to bring health to their communities, locally and worldwide.

Theme :- “Delivering Quality , Serving Communities , Nurses leading Chronic Care”

The Objective of the Celebration was to give tribute to Florence Nightingale and to recognise the contributions that Nurses & Nursing make to the community.

Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital & Research Centre Nursing Services Department celebrated the Nurses Day on May 12th 2010 and Dr.Ram Narain (Chief Operating Officer), Dr.Santosh Shetty (Dy. Chief Operating Officer), Mrs.Nivedita Nanda (Head Human Resources) , Mrs Kawaljeet Oberoi (General Manager, Nursing), & Dr.Saroj Upasani (Principal of Nursing College) were present for the Celebration at KH Convention Centre.

The programme began with Lighting of the Lamp followed by unfolding the theme by Mrs .Kawaljeet Oberoi, General Manager, Nursing Services. Excellence has been achieved in delivering quality Chronic care to the patients through the various Coordinators for the past year. The achievements and future plans of the various disciplines in the Nursing Service department were projected by Ms.Surekha D (Oncology Coordinator), Ms.Laxmi Tribhuvan (Diabetic Coordinator), Ms.Sheryl Soans (Neuro Science Coordinator), Ms.Anju Jacob (Nephrology Coordinator), Ms.Pallavi Kale (Transplant Coordinator), & Ms.Viji Pillai (Cardiac Coordinator) respectively.

The Consultants from various departments applauded the Nurses contributions that were delivered to provide Quality care to the patients on a day to day basis.The speech by Dr.Santosh Shetty (Dy.COO) and Ms.Nivedita Nanda (Head HR) were recognising the efforts of the Nurses & inspiring them on this occasion. The Poem composed and presented by Dr.Saroj Upasani (Principal of Nursing College) emphasised on the importance of Quality Nursing in Chronic care .
